What do we provide?
We provide personalised support for pupils across Key Stages 1–4 through tailored tutoring and mentoring, designed to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress. Alongside education, we offer therapeutic services to support emotional wellbeing and help young people overcome barriers to learning. Our reintegration support ensures a smooth and supported transition back into mainstream education or an appropriate long-term setting.

We also provide a range of school based programmes to support pupils across Key Stages 1-4 that require additional guidance to allow them to successfully navigate their way through school life. These are typically time intensive and group based to allow for them to identify barriers they are facing, understanding why they are facing them and then exploring strategies that they can use to reduce the impact of these barriers.
Part Time Alternative Education
Mentoring
At Project RESET, our mentoring is built around strong, consistent relationships that help young people feel safe, understood, and motivated to move forward. We provide one-to-one and small group mentoring tailored to each individual, supporting them to build confidence, improve behaviour, and develop positive attitudes towards learning.
Â
Our mentors work closely with pupils to set realistic goals, develop coping strategies, and address barriers that may be affecting their education or wellbeing. Through regular sessions, we encourage self-reflection, resilience, and emotional regulation, helping young people to better understand themselves and their choices.

We take a holistic approach, linking mentoring with education, therapeutic support, and reintegration planning. This ensures that every young person is supported not just academically, but socially and emotionally, enabling them to successfully transition back into school or into a suitable long-term provision.
Tutoring
At Project RESET, our tutoring provision is designed to provide personalised, high-quality education that meets each young person at their individual starting point. We support students across all Key Stages, delivering tailored one-to-one and small group sessions that build confidence, re-engage learners, and promote steady academic progress.

Our experienced tutors adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and needs, ensuring that pupils feel supported and able to achieve. We provide targeted support for students preparing for GCSEs and Level 2 equivalent qualifications, including Functional Skills, with a focus on developing core knowledge, exam readiness, and independent learning skills.

We work closely with each young person to identify gaps in learning, set achievable goals, and celebrate progress along the way. Our tutoring is closely linked with mentoring and wider support, creating a consistent and nurturing environment that helps students succeed both academically and personally.
Reintegration and Transition Support
At Project RESET, our reintegration and transition support is designed to help young people move forward with confidence at key stages in their education. We work closely with pupils, families, and schools to create structured, personalised plans that support a successful return to education or progression into a new setting.

For reintegration back into school, we provide a gradual and supported approach, preparing students both academically and emotionally. This may include phased timetables, continued mentoring, and close liaison with school staff to ensure consistency and understanding. Our aim is to reduce anxiety, rebuild routines, and ensure each young person feels ready to re-engage with learning.

We also offer targeted transition support at key points in a young persons education including movement between Primary, Middle and Secondary education. These transitions can be challenging, so we focus on building resilience, developing independence, and preparing students for new expectations and environments. This may include familiarisation visits, skills development, and ongoing support during the transition period.

For our young people that are towards the end of their compulsory education journey, we provide intensive support in exploring Post 16 opportunities, ensuring that they have a clear plan for their next steps in life. Our staff have extensive knowledge in this area and would be more than willing to support with Open Days and College/6th form applications and research regarding apprenticeships. Our ultimate goal is to allow our young people to leave us feeling confident in the choices they make for their future.

By taking a proactive and nurturing approach, we help young people navigate change successfully, ensuring they feel supported, prepared, and equipped to thrive in their next stage of education or training.
In School Support Packages
Transition Support
At Project RESET, our in-school transition support package is designed to help students who are struggling with a current transition or who may need additional support ahead of an upcoming change. We work directly within school settings to provide early intervention and targeted support, ensuring pupils feel prepared, confident, and able to manage the demands of a new environment.
Our approach focuses on building strong relationships and understanding each student’s individual needs. Through one-to-one and small group sessions, we support pupils to develop coping strategies, improve emotional resilience, and strengthen key skills such as organisation, communication, and independence. For those approaching a transition, we provide structured preparation, helping to reduce anxiety and build familiarity with what to expect.
For students already experiencing difficulties following a transition, we offer consistent, supportive input to help them re-engage, manage challenges, and rebuild confidence within the school setting. We work closely with school staff to ensure strategies are consistent and effective, creating a joined-up approach that supports long-term success.
Our goal is to make transitions smoother, reduce disruption to learning, and ensure every young person feels supported at these important stages in their education.
Emotional Regulation Support
At Project RESET, our emotional regulation support is designed to help young people better understand and manage their emotions within the school environment. We recognise that behaviour is often a form of communication, and our approach focuses on exploring what emotions are, how they feel, and why they occur.
Through structured one-to-one and small group sessions, we support students to identify and recognise their emotions, understand the impact these can have on themselves and others, and develop greater self-awareness. We create a safe and supportive space where pupils can reflect on their experiences and begin to make sense of their emotional responses.
Alongside this understanding, we teach practical strategies to help students regulate their emotions in school. This includes techniques to manage stress, frustration, and anxiety, as well as developing positive coping mechanisms that can be used in the classroom and beyond. Our aim is to equip young people with the tools they need to respond more positively to challenges, improve relationships, and engage more successfully with learning.
Mentoring through Sport
At Project RESET, our Mentoring in Sport package uses physical activity as a powerful tool to engage young people, build trust, and encourage open communication. Through structured sports-based sessions, we create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel more comfortable discussing their feelings and exploring any perceived barriers to success in school.
Our programme focuses on developing key interpersonal skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. By taking part in collaborative activities and challenges, students learn how to work effectively with others, express themselves positively, and build confidence in their abilities.
As the programme progresses, young people are encouraged to take ownership of their development by planning and delivering a sports-based event or activity within their school. This provides an opportunity to showcase the skills they have gained, while also giving back to their school community. The overall aim is to empower students, helping them to feel more connected, capable, and motivated to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
